Last week, Grade 9 Visual Arts students visited a local pottery studio by Yangchen lake. Here they had an opportunity to learn new skills from Suzhou's master potter and gain further information into the history of ceramics in China.

Last Thursday, the sixth-grade Humanities students ventured on a whirlwind journey throughout Suzhou. During this ambitious trip, students travelled via various modes of transport and covered a large portion of the city.
On the weekend we had 5 soccer teams competing in the CISSA end of season Cross River Tournaments. These events bring together schools from across the CISSA middle school network for a full day of round robin play with a strong focus on player development, learning and fun.
On Wednesday November 13th, the mathematics department at SSIS hosted once again the AMC 8 Mathematics competition in the theatre, with students from grades 6, 7 and 8. The AMC 8 was a 25-question, 40-minute, multiple choice examination in middle school mathematics content, designed to promote the development of problem-solving skills.
