The SSIS orchestra team hosted its annual concert on December  19, 2022. For this year's concert, we had a variety of performances.

The SSIS Orchestra is a mixed ensemble comprised of strings, brass, woodwinds, and percussion. We are an ambitious group who have previously been designated as a community orchestra, but have since transitioned to a purely student ensemble as student leadership emerged. Generally, our ensemble is associated with more intimate performances and the musicals put on by SSIS. Nevertheless, this year, we are delighted to be able to give our debut formal performance to the general public in order to demonstrate our accomplishments.

An orchestra, no matter the size, is something much like a seedling that requires delicate care before bearing fruit. Even once it reaches maturity, it should never stop growing and must be tended to as it continues to develop. There were so many helping hands who gave their time and energy to raise the orchestra up to where it is today. We would like to extend special thanks to Samer Khouri, Taylor Ren, Steven Hawkins, Rudine Raydn, and Jill Beam, as well as Christina Lin and the members of Suzhou Cultural Arts Centre for their devoted time and energy in nurturing our orchestra and helping to raise it to its present standing. Additionally, our deep gratitude goes to the parents and, of course, to the students for their invaluable contribution.
