David Tennis Club will be conducting Tennis programme at SSIS. David Di, a USPTA certified professional tennis coach, will be the head coach. Students of age 5 & above are invited to participate. G3-G5 Kids Coding – Scratch - PA
Kids coding courses are funny, exciting and easy, which are very popular with kids ages 6-12. Kids coding curriculum includes robot building & programming control course and visual graphics programming course. It aims to train students' logical thinking and abstract thinking skills, improve students' patience and concentration, and enhance students' ability to organize information and solve problems.
- For students of different ages, kids coding teaching combines LEGO SPIKE robot programming tools (for ages 6-10) and SCRATCH graphical programming (for ages 9-12).
- LEGO SPIKE robot programming teaching simulates real situations, builds robots for life or industrial use, and makes them move by running programs, focusing on cultivating students' problem-solving skills.
- SCRATCH graphical programming teaching focuses on cultivating interest and exercising thinking, which is more interesting. Students can create their own animations, stories, music and games. This process is actually as simple as building blocks.
Kids coding instructor Steven Gu graduated from Southeast University with a major in Computer Science and Engineering, and then worked deeply in Singapore's industry. The SSIS Middle School Sports program aims to provide a learning environment that is supportive, encouraging and inclusive of all students that are keen to try the sport. The seasons will involve training sessions and internal practice games and progress to teams being formed for games with other schools and a season ending tournament to experience the excitement of competition and learn from those experiences. At Middle School level we are a part of the CISSA sports association based in Shanghai and involving all of the International Schools in Shanghai along with some from Suzhou, Nanjing and Hangzhou. Training will take place on Tuesday and Thursday. Some lunchtime trainings will be used early in the season with afterschool trainings scheduled when court space is available. In February and March training will be afterschool with games and tournaments planned for the end of March.

G9-G12 Soccer
Training and games for Soccer will be Tuesday and Thursday afterschool. Soccer season will commence in February with trainings. Students signed up will receive notification of the start of training. Students involved in Basketball will be excused until that season concludes. The full season will continue in the Spring season of activities with games and tournaments continuing through until May.
G11-G12: Yoga
Yoga is an ancient practice that brings together mind and body. It incorporates breathing exercises, meditation and poses designed to encourage relaxation and reduce stress. The program will be designed to support both beginners and those with some experience supporting each students needs to manage stress and learn mindfulness strategies.
