SSIS's Dance and Drama department is essential to the school's academic curriculum, offering students a chance to explore their creativity and develop valuable skills. Following the IBPYP format, the department focuses on inquiry-based learning, encouraging students to express themselves through movement and collaboration.
The department aims to help students develop communication, self-management, critical thinking, research, and social skills through dance and drama. The department also produces a yearly production, open to students from Grades 2-5, which gives them a chance to be a part of something unique that will stay with them as they grow up.
Through participation in the department, students are challenged to think outside the box and explore their creative potential. Movement is regarded as an opportunity for communication and self-expression through dance or drama. The department's ultimate goal is to help students develop a lifelong appreciation for the performing arts and equip them with the skills and knowledge they need to pursue their passion for dance and drama throughout their lives.
