The SSIS Orchestra is a vibrant and diverse musical collective that showcases the talents of students ranging from grades 3 to 12. Comprised of skilled string, woodwind, brass, and percussion players, this orchestra creates captivating melodies that captivate audiences and ignite a love for music.

Being a part of this orchestra means having numerous chances to perform. From exciting concerts that highlight the ensemble's collective talent to providing enchanting music for the school's plays and shows, each performance is an opportunity to share their musical abilities with the school community.

In the elementary choir, students have the opportunity to explore the enchanting realm of singing alongside their fellow classmates. Together, they learn a diverse repertoire of songs, discovering the beauty of different musical genres and styles. Through engaging rehearsals and vocal exercises, students develop their singing skills, enhance their musicality, and learn the art of blending their voices in perfect harmony.

In the Senior School Choir, students will learn a variety of genres and repertoire and will perform at many school events. It is open to students in grades 6-12. The choir is a great space to connect with other students, learn about vocal music and vocal health, and create wonderful rehearsal and performance experiences. 

Taiko team is a yearlong performing ensemble that brings the traditional Japanese art of drumming to life. Embracing a strong tradition at SSIS, our Taiko team continues to dazzle audiences at various school functions. Open to students in grades 6-12, this program offers an immersive experience where students not only learn to play traditional Taiko instruments but also delve into the rich history and cultural significance of this art form. Through dedicated rehearsals and performances, students develop their musical skills, foster teamwork, and gain a deep appreciation for the rhythmic power and unity that Taiko embodies.
