The Visual Arts program at SSIS is integral to the school's academic curriculum and is designed to offer students a rich and diverse learning experience. Following the IBPYP format, the program is centred around inquiry-based learning, encouraging students to explore the world of visual arts through various interactive and collaborative activities.
The program aims to develop a range of skills in students, including communication, self-management, critical thinking, research and social skills. The program is designed to connect with the homeroom and all other PYP subjects, using transdisciplinary themes and key concepts such as form, function, and perspective.
Through participation in the program, students are challenged to think creatively and innovatively while exploring various mediums such as drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art. The program's ultimate goal is to help students develop a lifelong appreciation for visual arts and equip them with the skills and knowledge they need to pursue their passion for art throughout their lives.
