Dear Parents, Students, Families, and Members of the SSIS Community,
On behalf of the SSIS team and the Board, I would like to warmly welcome you to the start of the 2026–2027 academic year. I wish every member of our community a healthy, happy, and wonderful beginning to the new school year.
I always feel a mix of excitement and a bit of nervousness at the start of each academic year. I also feel truly fortunate to be part of such a dynamic, caring, and vibrant community. As we prepare for another busy and inspiring year, I would like to share some of the many things happening at SSIS. Of course, there is far too much to include in one newsletter, so we will continue to share updates and highlights with you throughout the coming weeks and months.
Welcome New Families:
First and foremost, a warm welcome back to all our returning families. We also extend the warmest welcome to our 97 students and 70 families who will join our school this year, representing 17 nationalities. Welcome to your new home at SSIS and in Suzhou.
Welcome New Teachers
I am also pleased to share that all 16 of our teachers have arrived. Our technology integration leader will arrive next week. We began our new-teacher orientation around August 5, followed by our full-staff induction week, which began on August 11. Since then, everyone has been working hard to prepare for the big day when we welcome our students and families back to school.
Happy 30th Anniversary
This will be such a special milestone. Congratulations to every member of our community, the board, SIP, and everyone who has been a part of creating SSIS. We have a few events planned for this great occasion, and we will send more information at various times throughout this year. Happy Anniversary SSIS.
University and DP results
We have also already had the opportunity to celebrate our IB results and university results, and once again we extend our huge congratulations to all our students and teachers on an amazing year. The university outcomes, IB results, and scholarships achieved by our students are truly fantastic, and we are very proud of their accomplishments.
New Projects and Thank You to our business team
As always, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our support teams, including Human Resources, Finance, Business Operations, Maintenance, and everyone who worked throughout the summer to prepare the school for the year ahead. Every summer, a great deal of work takes place behind the scenes, and this year has been no exception.
You will notice a number of exciting changes around campus. One project that I believe will attract everyone’s attention, especially our students, is the completion of the new changing rooms at the swimming pool. This is by far not the only project completed over the summer, but it is certainly one many will be excited to see. Renovation and improvement work has also continued in other areas, including toilets, routine maintenance projects, and ongoing work on the Early Years building. More information about these developments will be shared in a separate newsletter.
The Year Ahead
As always, we expect a year full of events, activities, academic challenges, and exciting opportunities. We look forward to maintaining the strong rhythm and positive momentum of the past few years, and we are excited about all that lies ahead.
We look forward to welcoming our new parents to orientation on Thursday morning, August 20. Returning families are also welcome to visit the school after 1:30 p.m. on the same day. Most importantly, we are excited to welcome everyone back to school on Friday, August 21. Details will be shared by the principals and admissions team.
I hope you have all had a wonderful and happy holiday. We are very much looking forward to seeing you on the first day of school and to beginning another successful year together.

很高兴和大家分享，16位新教师已全部到岗，技术整合主管也将于下周抵达。从8月5日启动新教师入职培训，到8月11日开启全体教职员工新学年培训，校园里早已忙碌起来——所有人都在为迎接大家返校的“大日子”做着最后的准备。
祝贺建校三十周年
这将是学校发展历程中一个意义非凡的里程碑。祝贺学校社区的每一位成员、校董会、苏州工业园区以及所有为建设SSIS付出努力的人们。我们为这一特别时刻筹备了一系列活动，并将在本学年陆续与大家分享更多信息。祝贺SSIS建校三十周年！
大学录取与DP成绩
此前我们已与大家分享了2026届毕业生的IB成绩及大学录取喜报。再次向所有学生和老师致以最热烈的祝贺，感谢大家交出了一份如此亮眼的成绩单。大学录取、IB分数、奖学金——每一项都极为出色，我们为他们感到无比骄傲。
暑期工程与致谢运营团队
我谨向所有支持团队致以最诚挚的谢意：人力资源部、财务部、行政运营部、后勤保障部以及整个暑假为开学默默忙碌的每一位同事。每到暑期，许多幕后工作让校园悄然焕新，今年也不例外。
大家会注意到校园里许多令人惊喜的变化。其中，最受孩子们期待的，当属泳池全新更衣室正式完工。这当然不是暑期唯一的工程，但一定是今年开学最亮眼的一处。此外，卫生间翻新、常规维护项目以及幼儿部的持续改建也在同步推进，更多细节将在后续专刊中与大家分享。
展望新学年
我们期待这一学年充满各类活动、课程挑战与精彩机遇。我们将延续过去几年的稳健节奏与积极势头，从容迎接即将到来的一切。
我们欢迎新生家长参加8月20日周四上午的新生报到活动，也欢迎老生家庭于当天下午1:30后到校。最重要的是，我们非常期待在8月21日周五迎接所有人正式返校。具体安排将由各学部校长及招生办另行通知。

저는 새 학년도가 시작될 때마다 항상 설레이고 약간은 긴장되는 느낌을 받습니다. 또한 역동적이고 배려하는 활기찬 커뮤니티의 일원으로 함께할 수 있다는 것에 진심으로 감사하고 있습니다. 다시 한 번 바쁘고 뜻깊은 한 해를 준비하면서, SSIS에서 진행될 여러 가지 일들을 여러분과 함께 나누고자 하며, 향후 몇 주 또는 몇 달에 걸쳐 다양한 소식과 주요 행사들을 계속해서 여러분께 알려드리겠습니다.
신입생 가족 여러분을 환영합니다
무엇보다 먼저, 모든 재학생 가족 여러분을 진심으로 환영합니다. 그리고 올해 SSIS에 새롭게 합류하는 17개 국가에서 온 97명의 신입생과 70 가족에게도 따뜻한 환영의 인사를 전합니다. 여러분의 새로운 보금자리가 될 SSIS와 쑤저우에 오신 것을 진심으로 환영합니다.
신임 교사들을 환영합니다
새로 합류하는 신임 교사 16명 모두가 학교에 도착했다는 기쁜 소식을 전해드립니다. 테크놀로지 담당자는 다음 주에 도착할 예정입니다. 우리는 8월 5일부터 신임 교사 오리엔테이션을 시작했으며, 이어서 8월 11일부터 전체 교직원 대상의 새 학년도 오리엔테이션과 연수 주간을 진행했습니다. 모든 교직원들은 학생과 가족 여러분을 다시 학교에서 맞이하는 준비를 위해 열심히 노력하고 있습니다.
개교 30주년을 축하합니다
올해는 특별한 이정표가 되는 해입니다. SSIS를 만들어 온 우리 커뮤니티의 모든 구성원과 이사회, SIP, 그리고 SSIS의 성장과 발전에 함께해 주신 모든 분들께 진심으로 축하의 말씀을 전합니다. 30주년을 기념하기 위해 몇 가지 특별한 행사를 준비하고 있으며, 자세한 내용은 그때 그때 여러분께 안내해 드릴 예정입니다. SSIS 30주년을 진심으로 축하합니다.
대학 진학 및 IB DP 결과
지난 학년도 졸업생들의 IB DP 결과와 대학 진학 결과를 축하하는 기회는 이미 가졌습니다만, 다시 한번 놀라운 결과를 만들어 준 모든 졸업생들과 교사들에게 진심으로 큰 축하의 말씀을 전하고 싶습니다. 학생들이 거둔 대학 진학 성과, IB 성적, 그리고 대학 장학금 결과는 정말 훌륭했으며, 우리는 학생들이 이룬 성취를 매우 자랑스럽게 생각합니다.
새로운 프로젝트와 비즈니스팀에 대한 감사
올해 역시 학교가 새 학년을 준비하기 위해 여름 내내 보이지 않는 곳에서 애쓴 인사, 재무, 비즈니스 운영, 시설관리를 비롯한 모든 지원팀에게 감사의 말씀을 드립니다.
여러분께서는 캠퍼스 곳곳에서 여러 가지 놀라운 변화를 발견하시게 될 것입니다. 특히 학생들을 포함한 모든 분들의 관심을 끌 것으로 생각되는 프로젝트 중 하나는 수영장에 새 탈의실이 완공된 것입니다. 여름 동안 많은 프로젝트가 진행되었지만, 많은 분들이 기대하셨을 프로젝트 중 하나입니다. 또한 화장실을 비롯한 여러 공간의 보수 및 개선 작업, 정기적인 시설 유지·보수 프로젝트, 그리고 유치부 건물에 대한 공사도 진행되었습니다. 보다 자세한 내용은 별도의 뉴스레터를 통해 안내해 드릴 예정입니다.
앞으로의 한 해
올해도 다양한 행사와 활동, 학업적 도전, 그리고 흥미로운 기회로 가득한 한 해가 될 것으로 기대하고 있습니다. 지난 몇 년 동안 이어져 온 활기찬 흐름과 긍정적인 변화를 계속 유지해 나가기를 기대하며, 앞으로 펼쳐질 모든 일들이 매우 기대됩니다.
8월 20일 목요일 오전에 예정된 신입생 오리엔테이션에서 신입생 학부모 여러분들을 만나 뵙기를 기대하고 있습니다. 재학생 가족 여러분들도 같은 날 오후 1시 30분부터 학교를 방문하실 수 있습니다. 무엇보다도 8월 21일 금요일 첫 등교일에 모든 학생들과 학부모 여러분을 교내에서 맞이할 수 있게 되어 매우 기쁘게 생각합니다. 자세한 사항은 해당 학년의 교장 선생님과 입학팀에서 안내해 드릴 예정입니다.
